IEEE Xplore - Impact of polling on bluetooth piconet performance

Summary
Bluetooth was initially conceived as a technology to replace cables in simple domestic devices, it has an extraordinary impact on the telecommunications sector. Certain scientific interest in the modifications of the Bluetooth standard in order to use for improved multimedia traffic support with minimal impact on hardware modifications.

In this article, they focus on the role of the polling time parameter and the proposal of several algorithms that allow it to be changed dynamically.

Comment
According to the article, they evaluated the performance of different polling time by measuring jitter and number of null packets, and they showed the significant impact on them in different scheme, which is pretty appealing to Beggar A.

As the author mentioned in the article, they only provide a possible direction of study on Bluetooth standard. There are still many studies need to carry out in order to design a proper algorithm for polling time.

As the cost and the power consumption of Bluetooth is low, and large support from manufacturers, Beggar A believe that there will be more work on this topic in the future.
